Beginning our trip on the cruise boats, we made our way around Zimbabwe with photographer Paul Karnstedt. We followed our circuit tours to show you what you’re missing out on if you have not been or booked with Zambezi Cruise & Safaris! The road trips are so awe-inspiring and enable exploration of every nook and cranny of the country while traveling from one beautiful destination to another – how lucky are we!
To take the most magnificent photos, getting up early is essential. The best shots are taken between 5-7.30am and 4.30-6.30 pm. It’s all about the lighting and it is crucial to photograph at dawn and dusk – if you can roll out of bed in time…
Starting point and currently operating cruise boat number one:

This Magnificent 9 cabin cruise boat, The Umbozha, offers pure and simple lake luxury. Each room has an en-suite with air conditioning and boasts stunning lake views from your bed. The boat has an expansive lounge and dining area, offering panoramic views of the landscape beyond, coupled with stylish interiors.
#2 THE SHIKRA
Another stunning vessel in this continually expanding fleet “The Shikra”. Christened after a Goshawk – an African bird of prey. On board 10 comfortable cabins await you. A staircase leads to the top deck, from where our captain sails the vessel. From here you have a bird’s eye view of the lake and its surrounds – this is a great place to relax on a day bed in the open air. You may prefer to escape the heat of the midday sun with a dip in the pool or kick back and relax on the sun loungers with an ice cold drink of your choice – who can think of anything better? Not us!

Last, but most certainly not least, of the cruise boats at ZC&S is the spectacular Karabezi. The Karabezi’s name comes from a combination of “Kariba” and “Zambezi”. With her 5 cabins, Karabezi is one of the most intimate but equally impressive boat in the Zambezi Cruise and Safaris fleet.
If this is not enough to whet your cruising appetite, fear not! There are 5 more boats coming soon to our fleet with equally fabulous photos to come…
If you love these photos as much as we do, be sure to look out for the next post where we treat you to more photos by Paul of our collection of lodges.
Thanks for coming and see you next time!
