Cruise Boats: Adventure-filled Kariba Cruises

Zambezi Cruise & Safaris owns the largest fleet of cruise boats on Lake Kariba, part of the Middle Zambezi.

We furnish our cruise boats often called “Houseboats” to a similarly high standard with fully air-conditioned en-suite cabins and lounge/dining areas. Additionally, each of our Kariba houseboats has either a pool or jacuzzi from which to enjoy the stunning views across this magnificent azure blue Lake to the Matusadona Mountains or Zambezi escarpment.

Zambezi Cruise & Safaris are famed for friendly and professional crews onboard all of our riverboats. This also includes our knowledgeable local guides and hosts who will explain the history of the lake, identify wildlife and share points of interest—all to ensure a truly memorable and wild African river cruise experience.

The chef and his team will present you with a selection of fun traditional and seasonal dishes. We freshly prepare every meal and are more than happy to include your OWN catch of the day! Along with the fine cuisine, local beverages and imported South African wines are available.

Available Houseboat Activities

A cruise on Lake Kariba is often considered a relaxing break on a fast-paced Zimbabwe safari tour. This is a time to immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of this inland sea surrounded by its majestic wildlife.

However, if you are looking to keep up the pace then there are morning and evening wildlife cruises along the many inlets of the lake shoreline, finishing the day with drinks in hand as you watch the iconic Kariba sunset.

For those avid fishermen/women, a dedicated fishing boat is available at any time of the day. Optional excursions of either a two to three-hour game walk or drive in the Matusadona with your guide. We end the day learning about the various star constellations from our qualified team.
