Travel Itinerary: Day-by-Day Summary

Day 1: Arrival in Harare – Pamuzinda Safari Lodge

On arrival, we transfer (by road or air) to Pamuzinda Safari Lodge, where we stay (full board, excluding drinks) in a lodge set in the wilderness along the banks of the Serui River. Africa tours are all about wildlife experiences – and this afternoon, enjoy the heart-thumping anticipation of our first game drive together. Perhaps we’ll spot an elephant or some elegant giraffe or hear the distinctive bark of the Jackal. This evening, sample the local culture with a traditional barbecue dinner and dance show.

Day 2: Pamuzinda Safari Lodge

There is a selection of activities available today, including a walking safari, horse riding, canoeing, fishing. This afternoon, we’ve arranged a visit to the Chengeta Primary and Secondary Schools, built with charity funds, and attended by more than 600 students. In the afternoon we look forward to another game drive. We finish with a bush dinner as the sun sets, and then a Mongolian braai (barbecue) under the stars.

Day 3: Drive to Kariba

We leave our enchanting lodge behind and make tracks for the shores of Lake Kariba, via the Chinhoyi Caves. Sacred spirits are said to watch over ‘The Wonder Hole’, a spectacular cavern with a 150ft vertical drop into a cobalt-blue pool. Arriving at our next lodge, relax before an evening sundowner on the viewing deck and watch one of the famous Kariba sunsets come to life.

Day 4: Lake Kariba

This morning relax after breakfast, or for those who want a stroll, an interesting, guided nature walk in the local forest. Midday check out from Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel to board the Zambezi Trader. This afternoon we cruise across the lake to the Matusadona National Park where we will have many exciting opportunities to go fishing or cruising in the game viewing tender boats along the
many rivers and inlets tracking the wild inhabitants of one of the last great sanctuaries of the Zambezi River and hopefully spotting lions as well as the many elephants and one of the largest populations of crocodile and hippo in Africa.

Day 5: Lake Kariba

Morning of exploring our current water wonderland before heading off to our next destination and enjoying the views as we cruise along the Lake Kariba shoreline. We moor again in the late afternoon and take another boat excursion to hopefully spot some lion and the hippos emerging from the water for an evening grazing on the grassy banks.

Day 6: Lake Kariba

Enjoy a morning of game viewing before we then set sail to our last night’s mooring on the lake. Off again in the afternoon in our tender boats for some wildlife viewing or fishing followed by a barbeque on the beach or on board depending on the safety of our new location.

Day 7: Hwange National Park

This morning we cruise back to harbor to catch our short flight to Hwange National Park. The park is home to a diverse roll call of animals, including lions, the second largest population of elephants in Africa, and the unusual black sable antelope. After lunch
we take an afternoon safari to see what we can find. Back at the camp enjoy dinner and after around a Boma fire watching the Elephants come in for their evening drink

Day 8: Hwange National Park

We have a full-day safari in Hwange National Park, with a picnic lunch in the bush. With over 100 mammal species roaming through vast areas of forests, semi desert scrub, granite hills and water holes, there’s a lot to see today. Hwange is bigger than the country of Belgium! Will you tick off some of the Big Five? Will you spot a cheetah chasing its prey?

Day 9: Victoria Falls


This morning, catch a road trip to our final lodge, on the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls. Head into Victoria Falls Town for lunch and time to explore and reconvene later for quick road transfer to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for a Boma dinner with entertainment.

-Exiting Tribal Dance event and dinner at the Boma restaurant (evening)

Day 10: Victoria Falls

Visiting Victoria Falls is a true highlight of holidays in Africa. Every minute, millions of gallons of water plunge over the edge of the world’s largest waterfall. The constant rush of the Zambezi River has carved out a series of precipices stretching over a mile. Experience the great roar when we view Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side (often considered the best side), and admire Victoria Falls Rainforest, soaked by the Falls’ tremendous spray. Later this evening we set out to The Dusty Road Restaurant for a dinner experience at this popular Zimbabwean-themed restaurant.

Day 11 – Victoria Falls Departure Day

We travel to the airport and depart Victoria Falls
